Looks like old KittyBeater/VidKiller is going to be getting a visit from the cease and desist police soon, you can't post juke manuals online. The copyright is heavily protected and defended by it's owner. If I'm right, I think VictoryGlass owns the rights to all of the Rock-Ola Manuals, (Ken could probably verify this) and they haven't been shy in bringing sites down for it. Edit: It kind of sounded like I actually reported them in my post. I want to clarify and say I did not report anyone, nor will I, but there are those who read these forums who will do so in a heartbeat (especially against someone with VidKiller's rep) Just fair warning to VidKiller/KittyBeater if he reads this. 2nd Edit: This wasn't intended to be anything negative toward the OP either. Hope you didn't interpret it that way.

No probs, I'd never criticise anyone on here or any other message board for having an opinion on a topic. It's only when they start criticising me for having my own, or attempting to play 'moderator' that I might come back at them. As I see it, the guy is not achieving any pecuniary advantage by offering the facility of a 'freebee' pdf download. I've seen plenty of sites where re-printed manuals have been offered at around $50, (which is what I paid for mine) are these all 'authorised?'

I actually think the price is a bit steep. I'd guess they've been available for a while on that site and if something was going to happen it would have happened already. Worst case I guess, would be that the guy would be asked to stop, 'Litigation' seems a pretty expensive and rather drastic step in the circumstances. Once again, the comment wasn't addressed to you. It was in context with the comments originally made to me, by the poster to whom I was responding. But if the cap fits.

Quite happy to now 'let it die, pal,' but shouldn't have started in the first place, you seem to have conveniently forgotten that you did. But that comes as no surprise.

Thanks for the link. I was able to get an items that are not in my manuals - the wiring diagram for the 1984-1 remote. I'm glad it was of some help.

When I looked at the other manuals available on that site, I noticed that there was available a lubrication chart for a 436. This I think shares the same basic mechanics as many other models. I started a topic when I was looking for a lubrication chart for my machine. As there have been over 250 hits on that, I guess others were looking for one for theirs too, so I'll add the link and also a graphic, (in case the link disappears). Worst case I guess, would be that the guy would be asked to stop, 'Litigation' seems a pretty expensive and rather drastic step in the circumstances. The only advantage it would give the website owner is to direct traffic to his sales site from internet searches. I doubt litigation would occur but I wouldn't be surprised to see him sent a cease and desist letter. I will say that they probably would follow up with litigation if he refused to comply. Even if they've been around on his site for a while they may have not drawn much attention. Posting them on a collector site can bring that attention.

Although not that many people visit this part of the forum, the webmaster of that site has attracted a lot of negative attention to himself in these forums, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone here reported him. The reprints that go for 50 bucks could very well be legit, if you look at the victory glass website, some of the manuals are a bit pricey, if they are buying manuals from Victory, and reselling them at a markup, I could see them going for that amount.

I think it's under more the context of if you own them you are aloud to make a copy of your manual. Just like owning a Microsoft OS you have the right to copy it for backup purposes so hows that a bad thing? Actually I don't believe that fair use/ archival purposes applies in printed materials. That being said even if it did, it would allow you to copy yourself one copy of the publication from the publication that you own.

It is still illegal to download a cd for archival purposes, but not illegal to 'burn' a copy of your cd (and even that is still a legal gray area.) Owning the juke itself doesn't give you the right to own the repair/service manual. And above all of this, the webmaster doesn't have the right to distribute the publications, regardless of the intention of the downloaders. Have Added Quite A Bit More Juke Manuals & Brochures Since This Post Was Originally Put Here Home Page ( The Original One) juke Manuals Index Brochures Pages Just wanted to say your site has helpeed me allot repairing my jukes. I have used your manuals a few times. I think the amount they charge on e-bay or online is too much.Thankyou for posting them for some of us beginners.Dave.

The manuals that Victory Glass and Always Jukin' sell are not some cheap photocopies. They are professional reproductions that are offset printed on commercial printing presses from metal printing plates. This makes the original halftone photographs and schematics crystal clear & easy to see. They are on heavyweight archival paper and bound in a layflat binding with thick laminated covers. Some include service bulletins. Many late model Rowe jukebox manuals (the CD100 series especially) are over 300 pages!

Some of the sites with manuals scans are either incomplete manuals (sections/pages missing) or scanned in such low resolution they are difficult to use. I'm lucky in that I own several original Rowe shop manuals for several models. These are the 11' by 17' binders that are now rare. These things originally sold for $100 each from Rowe. They contain full board schematics, parts layout drawings, component lists, service instructions, and component cross references. These manuals have never been reproduced. Every page in these manuals are 11 by 17 double sided.

Since this is now on the 4th page, I think it should be mentioned for the benefit of those who have not read through the entire thread, the manuals are no longer free. Yes about 2 years ago we made this a subscription site after spending countless hours, and spending money to compile this collection we needed to cover some of the costs expecially on the juke manuals well worth what we ask for a subscription, and site is continually added to vidkiller13@hotmail.com.
